Service Impacting Maintenance

Linux Server Patching Friday, 01/18, 5:00am – 7:00am

What: We will be applying necessary critical updates and patches to all Olin Linux servers including the CX01 server hosting our Jenzabar environments.

When: Friday, 01/18/19, 5:00am – 7:00am

Why: To apply patches addressing critical vulnerabilities and additional necessary updates.

Impact: The following systems will be offline and unavailable to the community or impacted during the maintenance window.

  • CX01: Production server hosting the Jenzabar CX and JX applications will be unavailable.
  • JICS01: Production Olin Portal (my.olin.edu) will be operational however, portlets and functions requiring access to Jenzabar data will be inoperable.
  • LINWEBPROD: Production Linux web server which hosts various public facing course and other sites such as the IT wiki.
  • LINWEBDEV: Development Linux web server which hosts development versions of public facing sites and other internal only web sites.
  • LISTS.OLIN.EDU: Hosts Olin’s mailing lists
  • LISTS.BOW3COLLEGES.ORG: Hosts BOW mailing lists
  • LINUXDEV: Hosts local Linux mirrors
  • Several other IT only Linux servers will be updated however, they won’t impact the community

You: Please plan accordingly and address any necessary work associated with these systems either before the maintenance begins or after it concludes.
