======  Geneious R6 Installation ======
If you have an existing Geneious installation, we recommend you uninstall your current version and reboot your computer prior to running the latest installer.

===== Prerequisites =====
Please be sure that you have the latest Java Runtime Environment software installed on your system.  If you are installing the 64-bit Geneious software you will need to install the 64-bit JRE. 

Offline Java installation files may be found on the Java website:  http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

===== Windows Installation =====
  - To begin the installation, IE users may click on the following link.  For any browser you will need to copy & paste it into the Run box (Windows Key + R):
    * 32-bit users:  [[\\fsvs01\Applications\Public\netapps\Geneious\Windows\Geneious_windows_6_1_4.msi]]
    * 64-bit users:  [[\\fsvs01\Applications\Public\netapps\Geneious\Windows\Geneious_win64_6_1_4.msi]]
  - If you receive a Security Warning window, click **Run** to continue the install.  Allow all of the required prerequisite programs to install normally.  Click **Run** in any following security windows.  
  - Click **Next** at the Welcome screen
  - **Accept** the terms of the EULA, click **Next**
  - Click **Next** at the Destination Folder window to accept the default installation location
  - Click **Next** at the filename extensions window (accepting the defaults)
  - At the Shortcut Options window choose whether or not you would like desktop shortcuts and click **Next**
  - Click **Install** at the ready window
  - Click **Yes** on any User Account Control windows you may recieve
  - Click **Finish**

===== Licensing Setup =====
Upon loading Geneious for the first time, you will need to provide licensing information:
  - Select **Activate a License** at the Welcome to Geneious window
  - Select **Use a floating license server**
    - Server:  netapp01.olin.edu
    - Port:  27001
  - Click **OK**
  - Click **OK** again once the license has been obtained from the FLEXnet server
