How to Create an Admin account on your Mac (in case you lost the password to the your account)

  1. Reboot
  2. Hold down the Apple Key and the S Key
  3. When you get to the text prompt enter in the following terminal commands:
    1. mount -uw /
    2. rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
    3. Shutdown -h now
  4. Turn the machine back on. The Mac will act as if it's your first time setting it up and will allow you to create a new admin account.
