Directions for Using the Dubbing Station
Dubbing Station Guide - DVD
The following document will go over use the dubbing station that can be used for editing DVD media. For further assistance, contact the Help Desk (help.desk@olin.edu or x2430).
Station Support:
The dubbing station currently supports DVD to DVD dubbing and VHS to VHS dubbing. Please contact the Help Desk for assistance with other setups.
Directions for Dubbing (DVD):
DVD Players being used:
- SOURCE → Samsung DVD-P231 (REMOTE LABELED AS DVD S)
- DESTINATION → LITEON LVW 5005 (REMOTE LABELED AS DVD D
Make sure the RCA cables labeled DVD are connected to the TV Set (see image below)
Use Y 2 to 1 connector.
- Turn on TV and tune it to Line Input.
- Turn on the Source and Destination DVD players. Insert the material you wish to be recorded into the Source DVD player, and your blank media into the Destination DVD player.
- Using the Destination DVD Remote (DVD D, use the Source button (located at the bottom-left) to select AV2-Rear. This will allow you to see the source DVD.
- Using the Source DVD Remote (DVD S), find the point on the DVD from which you wish to begin copying.
- Once you are ready to record, press record on the Destination DVD player, then press play on the Source DVD player.
- When finished recording, press stop on both players
- Repeat editing process until you are finished. (To copy multiple clips, repeat 4-6 until finished)
- You can remove DVD tracks if you are not satisfied (using DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW media only). See attachments for these edits.
- You must finalize your DVD in order for it to be viewable on other DVD players. Follow the directions attached at the end of the document (NOTE: Follow directions for Model 5005).
