Olin College of Engineering qualifies for “SolidWorks Student Access”, the full-suite SolidWorks CAD & Simulation off-network, laptop program. 100 licenses are available for students.

• Installation of the “Student Engineering Kit” (SEK) is available via download: go to http://www.SolidWorks.com/SEK using the SEK-ID: XSEK12
• Each license will run for 365 days or time out on Dec 31st (whichever is first).
  • EDU Edition 2012-2013 will expire 12/31/2013.
  • EDU Edition 2013-2014 will expire 12/31/2014.
• SolidWorks Student Access Serial Number: 9020004184333346M333WMB5

To switch from the Olin Networked license to the student standalone license:

• Open Control Panel, and then
• Open Programs and Features.
• Find SolidWorks in the list, and
• Right-click to choose Modify.
• This will bring up the installation manager, where you should have the option to modify the individual installation.
• At the serial screen, replace the serial with the new SEK serial number. Also, at the Products to Install screen, make sure all desired products have their requisite check-boxes checked.
• Proceed through the rest of the install, and that installation should no longer require network communication to the server in order to use the SolidWorks license.
