MATLAB Installation for Macintosh

If you have an existing MATLAB installation prior to the latest edition, we recommend you uninstall your current version and reboot your computer prior to running the R2013a installation.

  • Go→Connect to Server…
    • Enter Smb://
  • Workgroup or Domain:
  • Name: Your network username
  • Password: Your network password
    • Select Applications
  • Public→netapps→matlab→version→unix-macintosh→version_maci64.iso
  • Select Install without using the internet
  • Click Next
  • Click Yes
  • Click Next
  • Open up the fik.txt file found in the base version folder and copy the serial
  • Select I have the File Installation Key for my license and paste it into the box
  • Click Next
  • Select Typical
  • Click Next
  • Click Next
  • If prompted for “the full path to license file” click on the Browse button, and then navigate to the fsvs01→Applications→Public→netapps→MATLAB→version folder
  • Click on the client-license.dat file, and then click the Open button.
    • You may need to copy this file to somewhere local on your computer and then browse to that location and select it there.
  • Click the Next button on the installation window and continue the installation.
