From the Company Portal (labeled “Olin Software” on your homepage or you can press Windows Key + “Company Portal”) navigate to “Apps” and install COMSOL.

If you don't have the company portal on your system, follow the follow these instructions:

- IE users may click on the following link to begin the installation process, for any browser you will need to copy & paste it into the Run box (Start→Run… OR: Windows Key + R): \\fsvs01.olin.edu\Applications\Public\netapps\COMSOL

Select the latest version and copy the folder onto your computer.

- The installation window may take a moment to popup while the installation files load.

1. Select your language of choice
2. New COMSOL <version> Installation
3. Accept License Agreement
4. Click the dropdown and change the license format from “password” to “port/hostname”
5. Port: 1718; Hostname: NETAPP01
6. Click Finish when complete
7. NOTE: if you are installing

Please note that when you wish to run this application you must use the shortcut for, COMSOL Multiphysics 6.0 (Classkit License)

• Go→Connect to Server…
  • Enter Smb://fsvs01.olin.edu
• Workgroup or Domain: olin.edu
• Name: Your network username
• Password: Your network password
  • Select Applications
• Public → netapps → COMSOL → latest version folder → COMSOL Installer
• Select your Language of choice
• New COMSOL <version> Installation
• Accept the license agreement
• License format: <port number>@<hostname>
  • 1718@netapp01.olin.edu
  • Press Check to ensure your computer can communicate with the license server
  • Fill in your name and Company (Olin College of Engineering)
  • Press Next
• Press Next at the Platforms screen
• Unselect License Manager at the Products screen, press Next
• Make any changes you desire at the Options screen, we recommend having it check for updates
• Press Install at the Install screen
