Removing a computer from the domain
This should only be done by graduating students! If you will be a returning student and are away from campus, the IT department is unable to remotely add your machine back to the domain.
- Click on the Start menu, and type control panel.
- In the Control Panel select System.
- Select the Change Settings next to the Computer Name field.
- Press the Change… button
- Select the Workgroup box and enter in
WORKGROUP
. - Select Okay, followed by Okay.
- You will be prompted to restart your machine in order for the operation to complete
- press Okay again to allow your machine to restart.
